    The addition of sour cream to this frosting balances out the sweetness and helps create a silky-smooth texture, perfect for dolloping on AMERICAN HERITAGE® Chocolate cupcakes and brownies!

    Recipe Yield: about 3 cups
    Active Time: 10 minutes

    • 1 bar (8 oz) plain cream cheese, room temperature
    • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
    • ¼ cup sour cream
    • coarse salt
    • 2 ½ cups confectioners’ sugar
    Step 1

    Using an electric mixer, cream together cream cheese, butter, sour cream, and a pinch of salt on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.

    Step 2

    Add confectioners’ sugar ½ cup at a time, stopping the mixer and scraping down the bowl before each addition.

    Step 3

    Gradually increase speed to medium after adding each addition of sugar.

    Step 4

    Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 5 days if not using immediately.

    Step 5

    Bring to room temperature before using.
